Environment

We believe that the world cannot continue to sustain its current rate of environmental degradation. Global warming, acid rain, contaminated land and the alarming destruction of rain forest, natural habitats and species are all issues causing alarm to leading scientists and governments alike.

We believe that engineers are in an important position to see that sustainable materials are used in those projects for which they have design responsibility. We recognise that all construction materials have their environmental problems but by using efficient design techniques we can minimise the material content of a building. We make widespread use of softwood timber from managed forests since this is probably the most environmentally friendly building material currently available.

The vast majority of our work now involves the redevelopment of brownfield sites and we are proud to have applied our expertise to decontaminate land to make it fit for development both now and in the years to come.

Our Environmental Policy

We will endeavour to communicate and influence others in addressing environmental issues - this will be done in the spirit of our professional role as consulting engineers in order that we can promote our own standards of environmental performance.

In our own activities will use energy saving equipment, minimise waste and recycle waste materials wherever possible.
