We believe that engineers are in an important position to see that sustainable
materials are used in those projects for which they have design responsibility.
We recognize that all construction materials have their environmental problems
but by using efficient design techniques we can minimize the material content
of a building. We make widespread use of softwood timber from managed forests
since this is probably the most environmentally friendly building material currently
available.

The vast majority of our work now involves the redevelopment of brownfield sites
and we are proud to have applied our expertise to decontaminate land to make
it fit for development both now and in the years to come.
